History

On 30 August 1878 the first recorded licensee was Edward Partridge, when the licence was transferred from Old Restaurant,
St. Peter Mancoft. In 1890 the landlord was also listed as
a bowling-green proprietor and the old bowling green has since become a large beer-garden at the rear of the pub. It was a Courage pub in the 1970s. Located in the heart of the Golden Triangle, the pub serves a wide range of ales, craft beers and lagers, home-cooked pub grub and popular Sunday roasts. There is a newly refurbished function room upstairs available for private hire.
