The ‘Sir Garnet’ has overlooked Norwich Market for many centuries. It is thought that original parts of the building acted as a market hall for traders in medieval times. It began trading as a public house in 1861, named after Field Marshal Garnet Joseph Wolseley who in the same year had received tremendous respect for his campaigns abroad. This led to the phrase “All Sir Garnet” meaning “all is in order”. With views overlooking the city, home-cooked food and a variety of meeting rooms available this quirky little pub has something for everyone.
