History

The first known listing was in 1832. Samuel Jeffreries was there until 1850. By 1845 John Youngs of the Crown Brewery, King Street had acquired ownership of the King’s Arms, later joining forces with Charles Crawshay who had a brewery in St Stephens. This partnership was joined by Youngs’ brother Robert Carss Youngs with the three partners trading as Youngs Crawshay & Youngs. In 2004 the pub was purchased by Batemans.
