Established by Benjamin Greene in Bury St Edmunds in 1799, Greene King has grown, through a series of takeovers and pub acquisitions, to become one of the largest breweries in the UK. Greene King IPA won the Gold award at the 2004 CAMRA Great British Beer Festival in the Bitter category and was runner-up in the Champion Beer Of Britain category.
