The pub takes its name from Peter the Wild Boy c.1711-1785 a feral child discovered in Germany in the 18th century. For a time he was kept by George I as a curiosity, arriving in Norwich as a vagrant in 1751. It is currently owned by Punch Taverns and has recently been refurbished to a high standard.
